I am surprised (or maybe not) how often the “experts” are wrong when it comes to trackwork, particularly unusual configurations. I often hear people comment when they see the type of trackwork I have on my layout that real railroads would never do this or that.

I Think I Love My Wife ipod I am pretty sure if I added a scene on my layout similar to the picture above it would be considered some kind of compromise to make it work on a layout, that having such a steep grade off of a turnout would never fly realistically, but here you go….

I have found several examples of trackwork the real railroads would just never use, on real railroads. There really is a prototype for anything if you look….
