Railroad cars are built in Hamilton, Ontario, at National Steel Car, which is in the same area as Dofasco Steel. It is bizarre to watch 40-50 car trains go by with absolutely new cars on them. No graffiti at all. Its like someone just took them out of the box.

They look like they need a bit of weathering done to them.

This train went by us and made the most unusual noise. Not the normal “railroady” sounds came from the cars, just a hushed hiss of new wheels and bearings coasting by.

  1. Wow, those are shiny! They could definitely use some weathering, but then again it is nice to have something new once in a while. I am not a train modeller, just a train modeller’s wife, can you tell.
