Needing a car ferry apron and barge for the dock addition, I decided to draw one up and make it on the laser. Of course, this was before I decided to move, and was still actively working on the layout. I thought I should post some shots of the work I did do on it.

It looks a bit like the Walther’s version, for good reason, I used that as a prototype since they have already done the hard work. I preferred a wood structure over the metal one Walther’s offers, plus, conveniently the laser cuts wood.

The entire structure, apron and barge has been drawn in 3D. The barge is designed to split along the waterline, so I can permanently place it in the water, and simply lift off the top half to exchange with other barge tops, simulating different boats with different loads of cars.

The Savages movies In a Spiral State movie I have cut and built the structure, which I will post some pictures of over the next couple days. The barge has also been cut out and assembled, but not detailed. I still have to cut out and assemble the apron.

Took this one during our very brief winter this year. I think we had about 2 weeks with snow on the ground, which will make for some fat squirrels this summer.

Looney Tunes: Back in Action on dvd

When I see this picture, taken in the 30’s, I can’t help but hear my late grandfather preach how in “his day” you would never see one man working and nine men watching…..
