I have been away for the last several weeks, first with the NMRA Train Show in Philadelphia, and more recently with the new house in Burford. I have come home for a few days to catch up on some pressing CAD work, and wash the shorts….
We will be building a shop on the property, and in the mean time we are renovating a “wing” on the house to work out of for the next while. Once the new outbuilding is complete, this space will become a main floor layout room off of the dining room, which I am looking forward to!
Here is a shot of the space when we first looked at the house….

It will be a bit cramped for a while, but we are used to that. The payoff will be worth it though….

Its been a while since the last Picture of the Day. The moment we returned from the train show in Philadelphia, we began preparing the new location for Fast Tracks. It will take a few weeks to gut and renovate the temporary space we will be working from while the new large shop is being built. Once complete, we can move all the equipment in and start preparing the rest of the house for us to move into.
So right now it is a sprint to get all this finished as soon as possible and get the moving out of the way. This will probably take the rest of the summer to wrap up and I can finally get back to the normal routines….
I will post some images as they become available.

This is the “contraption” I posted a picture of a few weeks back. Now completed and in use at the NMRA Train show in Philadelphia this week. Its a small display with a double crossover on it. The entire display slowly rocks back and forth allowing a car to roll over the turnouts, highlighting the smoothness of turnouts built in the Fast Tracks fixtures.
