Attended the Paris Model Train Show yesterday in Paris, Ontario, which is held at the Paris fairgrounds, right across a field from Paris Junction. Naturally after the train show I drove over to see if there was any train action. Not much in trains, but there were at least 40 vehicles waiting to watch anything go by. Talk about a captive audience! Once a train did go by I can say it was one of the most photographed trains in Ontario. I’m sure the crew were wondering what was going on.
Here is a picture of neither the trains or the crowd.

Purple piledriver
Playing around with the camera again yesterday for a bit, and took this shot of the Sheepscot piledriver sitting in front of the dock at Port Kelsey.

With this camera, a Nikon D1, which was the first professional level digital camera, you can get some very dramatic pictures. The colors this camera can capture is quite impressive. The downside to this level of camera is it only takes a raw image, and it takes a bit of skill to coax a nice picture from it.
With a bit of effort in Photoshop, pictures that could not be captured otherwise can be produced.
Here is what the raw image out of the camera looked like….

Most model railroaders have a turbulent relationship with cats. Cats see trains as little mice. I’m just allergic to them.
