Essex Terminal Railway #9

Standard 0-6-0 Alco Switcher Model S162

Built February 1923 at the Montreal Locomotive Works System, this little tugger is one of my favorite restored steam engines. Usually found working somewhere around Southern Ontario in the summer, I ride it when ever I get the chance.

Occasionally it will make a run to Delhi, Ontario, my hometown, on the remains of the Cayagua sub. The last few years it has not been able to make the trip due to health issues, hopefully it will be able to do it again this year.

The St. Thomas Central Railway maintains and operates this engine, along with a few others. Their website can be found here for more information…

Faded signs

The illusion of faded signs….

The signs on this wall are a bit of an illusion. I will be writing a blog post on how this technique works shortly….

Lindberg Tug Boat

Planet of the Apes movie full Tugboat

This was built from a Lindberg Line tugboat kit that I found in a hobby shop years back. I believe they are discontinued now, but I’m sure they could be found second hand somewhere. They are almost HO scale, and by replacing a few of the over sized details it makes for a good looking model.
