He came up with a real winner!<\/p>\n<p>Tonight I decided to work on some of the lower mainline for the lower deck of my Port Kelsey Ry, and required a curved turnout to make it all work.  Building a curved turnout needs a lot of curved rail, and the &#8220;Rail Roller&#8221; he developed works great!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.port-kelsey.com\/pkimages\/Curved-turnout-1_1_1.jpg\" alt=\"Curved-turnout-1_1_1.jpg\" align=\"baseline\" width=\"475\" height=\"633\" border=\"1\" \n\nImage copyright 2005, Tim Warris\n\nThis simple tool allows me to produce all the curved rail I will require.   Three ball bearings, one that is adjustable, allow me to accurately form rail into any radius, a simple knob will adjust the tool to any radius needed, repeatably, with a vernier scale.  It is a very accurate way to pre-bend rail.\n\nAs soon as possible we will be adding this tool to the site!  In the meantime, I will be building plenty of curved trackwork!
